I have a lot of friends who would consider me a southerner, but when you’re from DFW and most of your extended family is from Alabama, you sense a pretty distinct culture difference.. and I assume since I’m talking about Texas and Alabama, I don’t even need to mention twangs and drawls and mispronunciations (I will fight with you about which mispronunciation is the right one). Either way, This song gives me the warm fuzzies that the South has to offer, no matter which state. It makes me want to go back to my girls summer camp in Rosebud, with girls who’s daddy’s are truck drivers, ranchers, bikers, and run-aways. It makes me want to wear jeans and steel-toed boots so I can horseback ride until I fall off and make myself get back on one last time to prove I’m not scared. It makes me want to sit under my grandma’s magnolia tree in Montgomery while I watch fireflies & laugh at my cousin Tyler… pet Hee-Haw the donkey on Bunny & PawPaw’s farm, and forget that every warm fuzzy memory of home isn’t forever.
